About Dr. Heidi Ewen
I am behavioral scientist and gerontologist. My academic background is in Gerontology and Experimental Psychology. I received my PhD degree in Gerontology from the Graduate Center for Gerontology at University of Kentucky in 2006. Additionally, I have a graduate certificate in statistics with my doctoral degree and a minor in statistics with my master's degree.
My expertise is in aging and environment, particularly focused on where and how older people choose to live. My research has included aging-in-place, relocation decision-making, senior housing (including independent, assisted living, and continuing care retirement communities), use of home and community-based services; as well as stress, coping, and adaptation. While I have experience with advanced statistics and analyzing longitudinal datasets, I also use some qualitative approaches when the research question requires it.
